Jill Lematta Learning Center and Nurse Stations Art Glass Working closely with the doctors and architects, I designed and art directed the etched glass throughout the Cancer Center, including the nurse stations and the public resource library. The artwork helps to illustrate how both nature and science contribute to the healing and prevention of Cancer. The Jill Lematta Learning Center’s walls are etched with delicate abstractions of the botanical, chemical, and atomic make-up of various cancer treatments. Also integrated into the artwork are etched quotations by philosophers, writers and historical figures to encourage hope and inspiration. The nurse stations are engraved with various healing plants, continuing the story of hope as well as providing a clear way-finding solution. The goal of the designs were to educate, comfort and inspire those touched by cancer -- patients, families, researchers and caregivers alike.
